Today I participated in a VERY short pick up game of 2 on 2 Clan 'mechs weighing in at 140 Tons max. Use standard Clan 'mechs (Omni or otherwise). Simple changes were allowed.
Talen:
Timberwolf D with rear SRM racks flipped foward.
Cauldron-Born Prim
Toasty Socks:
Warhawk Primary
Stormcrow B with one less ER Medium, but one extar ton of ammo for the UAC-20.
The battle started off with pot shots from both team's PPCs doing damage. Talen forces moved into a small lake and used the Stormcrow's lack of engagemtn t their advantage as the Timberwolf and Cauldron Born tag teamed the Warhawk. The Stormcrow came up over the hill and began to attack the Timberwolf. The Warhawk ripped open the Cauldron born, which then flanked the Warhawk, rising a hill to get a better shot. The Stormcrow, having broken off the fight with the Timberwolf, moved in to proect the cripped Warhawk by placing itself between the Cauldron Born and its target. THe Caulron Born was on the side of the hill, and used its height advantage to kick the Stormcrow. The 65 ton boot of the Caulron Born smashed into the cockpit of the Stormcrow, but not before the Stormcrow got a double round into the Cauldron Born's torso, destroying it.
The Timberwolf then opened on the Crippled, but far from defenseless Warhawk. The PPCs missed, but a salvo of SRMs from the Timberwolf struck the cockpit, killing the Warhawk pilot. In a last ditch effort the Warhawk snapped off 2 shots from the PPC, each clipping the right leg, and bringing the Timberwolf to the ground.
Talen came away victorious...but barely.
The game took less than an hour to play, and was quite fun!

If where not my boss. I would say such nasty things to you!!!!!
But it sounded like a excellent game. Congrats on winning.

Wow! That is close. Did that happen by chance or did you guys figure it after having picked the mechs by weight. If that's coincidental, I'm shaken.

I don't see an issue with physicals in a game like that because all they were doing was dueling.
If it had been a scenario-type game than the physicals would be...questionable.

We decided on 140 tons max. The fact that they were that close was pure happenings.
I am of Omega Galaxy of Clan Ghost Bear, therefore I have learned the tactics and ways of the Inner Sphere fighters. So I used the good ol Kick here. Mmmm...physical beatins!
