hello agin. i just got back from the turnment, took second but did not lose a single fight?!?!?! it went by points and even though i wiped the floor with warlord ( winner ) he won becuse his frist fight was to a rookie witch he wasted and got the full points for killing the mech. each fight was timed so you only had so much time to do as much dammage as possible. there was only two mechs destroyed in all the fights. B.S. aint it.
you would not belive some of the mechs i had to fight.
B.O.G. II (blaze of glory) this was the only time i ever seen a 100 ton mech go down in one turn of fireing with out a head shot.
this mech did 364 (NO JOKE AND LEAGLE)points of damage to his frist oppent! warlord sat his mech behind a hill and waited for hellfire(rookie) to come to him then opened fire with 52 ER MEDIUM LASERS! and with a 4 to hit toboot. i dont think there was enuf left of that mech to make one gauss round. warlords mech then over heated by 240 POINTS OF HEAT and shut down. but he won. after i saw this i choose not to close with bog and sniped him at long range. i could not kill him in time but he did not hit me once.

one very nasty mech.

Is it even possible to put that many ERML on a mech?
I'm too lazy to try but this doesn't sound right...

I do find that a little hard to believe since there are only 51 possible critical locations, if I counted right. And that includes removing the hand and lower arm actuators. So I do find that design highly unlikely!

And even if he mistyped the number and meant 25 there's probably no way you could fire that many without shutting down the mech.

Using the smallest possible critical-using configuration (3-5-0 fusion engine, compact gyro, small cockpit, standard structure, no lower arm/hand actuators, standard armor, no optional systems, all clan) there is a total of 52 available critcal spaces. However, theres only 50 available tons on a 100 ton mech with armor maxed, so he must've lowered the armor value. I made the mech up in TDB, I'll post it in another thread.

ok hear we go.
er mediums
head=2(smallcockpit)
center torso=2
left torso=12(no xl)
right torso=12(no xl)
right arm=10
left arm=10
right leg=2
left leg=2
total=52
and as far as over heating he did not care.he his mech was made to kill his oppent in one turn. and though he over heated by 240 only 30 of that is marked on the sheet. so he would turn back on in
one maby two turns at most and do it agin if nessary.

The revised heat rule allows for heat levels higher than 30 and only allows a mech to disspate as much heat as they have heat sinks. The BOG should have been easy pickings after he devastated that first mech. He would have been BOG'ed down for the rest of the game.

| a small cockpit is out of the maxium tech book. it is available to clan or i.s.. its only two tons and removes one life support crit. its draw back is it adds a +1 to your piloting roll and ofcorse you only have one life support crit.

hmmm...+1 to you pilot chech?
I'll take 4 stock Snow Foxes against it...you'll still have a BV advantage I'd bet but you'll be dead in just a few turns.

| hey i never said i liked the mech. i would rather use a ANYTHING. i posted it becuse i was pissed that i only took second and i beat the winner. though i must admit it was cool seeing a mech take 364 points of dammage in one turn(i wounder if they could see that from space). i took that solar flare out before he got within 18 hexs of me. it was an assult turny so i could not use one of my medium mechs to out flank him.

A 5/8/5 Assault with MASC would've done just fine, who needs a medium?! Just give yourself a gauss rifle with a few tons and a couple of long range non-ammo weapons and you're golden!

It sounds like the tournament refs screwed up there. Sure the heat scale stops at 30, but allowing a mech that hits 240 in ONE TURN?
That thing didn't shut down, man. It melted like a popsicle in front of a blowtorch! And the pilot was simply instantly cremated to put it mildly. At the very least the other player should have recieved points for a total kill since his opponent just commited suicide in a BLAZE OF GLORY.
