Sounds great, right? Fast, well hung, seems like it could live long enough to do some damage, lives politely up the well with an invasion force et al …

But I can't find an interesting, non-crippling quirk for it, and I can never get behind any piece of art I find.

The X-36 (www.deviantart.com/bagera3005/art/Northrop-Grumman-FA-40-Golden-Eagle-366976101 , images.app.goo.gl/d8NWmRHEnXoJWKnL9) seemed like a great idea, but looks too much like a Guardian, after all these months. The new trainer (images.app.goo.gl/YKrnPa3bUhN5ncMv6)? Maybe, and it forces the conversation about "navel" aviation we all dance around.

Maybe I should go with the Swedes, or the Aussies ( images.app.goo.gl/ua7kyioKe9FtGDfd7 ) …

But I digress.

This thing wins the first day of a planetary invasion, but is annoying to maintain, or even deploy, as it refuels so often. Lugging around a "sensor op" in the back seat to help with black-outs is crazy in any century you care to name, but on the off chance you get tailed by two-dozen indigs while blowing of their buddy, eyes in the back of your cockpit might help.

… No? Embarassed I was relinat on the links to keep track if the image, but Bazos Hates You (Yeah).

arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2018/09/boeingsaab-joint-t-x-design-wins-air-forces-jet-trainer-competition/ should illustrate how way out'a scale I am with the one option, but it seems creditable, without being huge or far-fetched.
