Just an FYI, I'm gonna look into keeping the topics we currently have and porting them over so they are maintained when the new site rolls out. This will obviously mean that a few forums will have a lot of topics where-as others will have none.

After moving them over one of the tasks I'll set myself and chihawk out to do is to move them to the appropriate forum if needed.

I know you said you would not port over the forums. I think it would be nice for the Design submissions to be moved over. Heck I hardley ever look at it but it would be nice for all. The rest can dry up like husks in the desert.

AWAD- Change is good, in moderation.

I'm not sure but I don't think that the tags should work this way...

Nope. I must've screwed up the message BBCode when I fixed the signature BBCode issue.

This is what I get when I edit the first post in this topic.

Quote:
Notice: Undefined variable: poll_title in /home/mordel/mordel.net/sandbox/htdocs/includes/themes/Default/modules/barandgrill/barandgrill.posting.module.php on line 1108

Notice: Undefined variable: poll_length in /home/mordel/mordel.net/sandbox/htdocs/includes/themes/Default/modules/barandgrill/barandgrill.posting.module.php on line 1109

There is no poll, so it would probably stay hidden.

Edit: I was also trying what it will look like when a mech from HMPro is posted. I think that a combination of "[code]" tag with monotype font would be better.

Agreed. Changed the font list so it will look for the following fonts in this order:

1) Courier
2) Courier New
3) ANY font from the 'monotype' family
4) ANY font from the 'sans-serif' family

I'm not sure I follow you. I'll have to look at your post and see how it looks. But if you could be exact with regards to what is wrong with the signature, that would help. What am I seeing that I shouldn't be? What am I not seeing that I should be? Is something not formatting properly?

Went and made a test post. It went through fine. But I was wondering why my signature doesn't come through correctly. I cannot see the pictures and the test does not appear correctly either. What I could see looked like this:

Calderon Protectorate
The Wolverine's Fury

I would expect to see this in my profile management screens, but not in an active post.

Does selecting the radio buttons on the reply entry screen make any difference when submitting them? Or is this too another item you need tested?

Thanks,

HC1

Sorry ther Mordel.

What I am seeing on the other site is the text associated with the two userbar sig pictures that Skuggi posted at Battlecorps. I don't get the pictures as expected. I see the code like this:

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e62/GrungeVibe/taurian.gif

It was even bracketed with the img and /img as expected.

Hey wait a darned minute now! I just checked it again while writing this and now I can see the pictures....wierd!

I guess whatever it was is either fixed or didn't have any problems anyway.

Thanks anyway.

Later,

So I spent yesterday writing SQL to migrate our existing posts over to the new layout. I believe I have it completed! Some of the forums I didn't bother with, such as announcements, moderator stuff, the private forums, etc. But all the main forums were brought over.

Head on over to The Sandbox and have a look. Make sure it appears ok. Because BBCode worked slightly different here, there's not much I could do with that. But for the most part, everything looks fine (I think).

I don´t know if anybody has the same problems but i think some passages are hard to read like the "Who´s online" chapter or designs posted with the < pre > tags!
That small this font is not very good to pick up!

Could you point me to a specific post or location? Maybe give me the URL? The Who's Online doesn't use <pre></pre> tags, to my knowledge.

Regardless of the who's online, I see where you're coming from with the <pre></pre> tag as I tested it in a post. I updated the CSS so it included a default reference to PRE and increased the default font size of it.

Let me know if it is better now.

Ok I don't know if this is going to work but I just went to the new site and OMG it was wierd looking suddenly. Lots of code at the top of the screen and the "mordel.net" in the bar at the top of the screen (normally) was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy low on the screen. I took a screen shot and will try and post it here for you to see mordel. Hope it doesn't mess anything up. After you've looked at it and see what I mean (assuming it works) I would delete it as non useful.

Thanks.

Later,

Here goes nothing.....

OK no good. So how do I send you the screen shot there mordel?

Much better now!!
I think that this font is unsuited for small sizes.
The "Who´s online" is just a size-problem too.
In a size that small the single letters seem to "stick together" on my screen.

It may have to do with the cookies. Try clearing them. In either case, send the screenshot to me at webmaster@mordel.net. I'd like to see it. If it is cookie related, I'd like to change it so all these error messages don't come up if the cookies are messed up.
