==Overview:==
What the engineers originally envisioned with
the Taiheiyoo was a heavy fire support unit for
Jenner and Panthers. Fast, light, with strong
armor protection the Taiheiyoo would be the
ideal unit to hold the line.

Originally the Taiheiyoo had been concieved as
an entierrely independent machine from the
Jenner and Panther. Diplan MechYards had
won the original contract and began to work on
the design as outlined by the DCMS.

Unfortanitly for them, their design was high
priced. An XL engine, Endo Steel internal
structure, ferro armor, and heavy electronics
systems made the DCMS highly skeptical.
Indeed, to many it reminded them of the Hitman,
or the Raven of House Liao.

However, the best solution would turn out to be
the simplist, a modified Jenner. Luthien Armor
Works submitted their Taiheiyoo and it won
approval.

==Capabilities:==
The goal of the Taiheiyoo is to provide long
range fire support in the form of unguided
rockets in a rapid advance. Typical formation
includes three Jenner's and one Taiheiyoo.

To allow for fast and easy acceptance of the
Taiheiyoo, it is, in essence, nothing more then
the modification of a Jenner, but a very sever
modification.

To allow space for the simple medium range
missiles, Luthien Armor Works removed the
jump jets and the entire weapons compliment.
Now with the two massive MRM 10 systems
mounted where the old Medium Lasers were,
the Taiheiyoo looks nothing like the old Jenner,
its entire profile having become heavily
modified.

However, the design is an engineers dream
come true. Both arm mounted MRM systems
are fully independent and self contained.
Although not as good as a dedicated omnimech
it is as good as the old Mercury design, being
able to be reloaded quickly or even
disassebled and repaired quickly. Without
the torso mounted SRM launcher, access to
the engine and torso sections is also easy,
in fact there is so much space that engineers
working on the design have been known to set
up bunks in the torso sections when in route
on a crowded DropShip!

Because of the simplicity in construction, and
the number of Jenner lines available, the
Taiheiyoo had already hit mass production
before it was approved. Its cheapness allows
a large number to be mass produced regularily
and with great reliability. The DCMS has been
very appreciative of the design, and even Clan
Nova Cat has expressed some interest in it.

==Battle History:==
The Taiheiyoo has been engaged in battle only
a few times, and none of them were serious
engagements. However, its performance was
up to par in each one.

The Draconis Combine uses classic tactics
when dealing with the Taiheiyoo/Jenner
quick attack lances. They strike out quickly
in classic skirmish line formation, and hit the
enemy along their lines at multiple points, only
to fly past and hit the rear areas.

This is best seen in a recent border clash
with Fed Suns troops. Using a heavy lance
for recon work, the Fed Suns were engaging
Draconis Combine forces all along the MLR.
In an attempt to gain intelligence on the local
region, the DCMS commander dispatched
a Taiheiyoo/Jenner lance.

As the lance approached the two Riflemen and
Commandos, they dispersed into a loose
formation and struck quickly. The Jenner's got
in close to the Riflemen and let loose a massive
barrage of firepower, just as the Taiheiyoo
engaged both Commandos at the same time.

The combination was almost like overwhelming
fire power from great numbers. The Taiheiyoo
played a very dangerous game of cat and
mouse with the Commandos but was able to
hold them off with its greater range and
weapons. Finally the Fed Suns lance was
forced to retreat, reporting "heavy" resistence
by the DCMS defenders.

==Variants:==
As this is a varient, al biet a major varient, of the Jenner, it has none o
its own.

==Notable 'Mechs & MechWarriors:==
MechWarrior Jayce Quilt was the pilot of the
Taiheiyoo in the above battle. He has been an
active supporter of the DCMS both in his
professional and private life. As such he is a
rabid hater of the Draconis March and the
Tranchered Family in particular. He has
welcomed the encursions into Kurita space,
using it as an excuse to rise up in patriotic duty
and smash aside those who would change his
ways.

He hopes one day to become a great
MechWarrior, and battle analysis of his
performance in the Taiheiyoo show that he
is well on his way to accomplishing it.

==Deployment==
The Taiheiyoo is still a rare sight on the
battlefield but this will change in the next few
months. However, no unit is being denied these
extrodinary useful designs, though preference
is being given to units recently mauled by the
Ghost Bears.

Solid, easily produced, and dependable. The only thing I'm worried about is the ammo factor, this thing is gonna have to be stationed at bases or have ammo carriers with it for a bltzkreig attack. Only 12 salvos from each launcher is kind of lacking. Damage is a bit on the low side also, and range lacks a bit for a fire support mech. This thing would be immolated by clan forces too, it'd be outranged and ripped apart as soon as they drew a bead on it. Although the fluff mentions lances of 1 of these and 3 Jenners, I can see an entire lance of these launching MRM's against light lances or vechicle columns, then falling back to regroup.

Just as a note, its 24 shots per Launcher. But you're right on all of your other assessments. It is light, its not meant to perform miracles. It is a easy to produce, use and maintain vehicle, designed to carry out a very simple mission profile. Your idea for use against light lances or vehicle columns would also occure.

Another idea I had was stripping off the MRMs and replacing them with RL-10s I'd get 16 volleys however, for the tonnage of the MRM systems, so I didn't consider it worthwhile (only benefit was a slight range increase). That might make a varient someday.
